The article presents the process of learning based on information processing. In order to contextualize the process the author refers to representative approaches in medicine, neurology, biology, psychology, philosophy and linguistics. The text is interdisciplinary in nature and it takes up the questions put within social sciences, including pedagogy and didactics. The issues discussed in the text, related to the functional structure of the brain, may be an interesting point of reflection for students of pedagogy and future teachers on the optimizing of the teaching-learning process for each learner regarded as a unique individual with his or her own individual needs, interests and, of course, a specific health condition.

W artykule opisano proces uczenia się opartego na przetwarzaniu informacji. W tym celu nawiązano do reprezentatywnych ujęć z zakresu medycyny, neurologii, biologii, psychologii, filozofii i lingwistyki. Tekst ma charakter interdyscyplinarny, wychodzi naprzeciw poszukiwaniom w zakresie nauk społecznych, w tym pedagogiki i dydaktyki. Omówione zagadnienia, związane z czynnościową strukturą mózgu, mogą stanowić przyczynek do refleksji studentów pedagogiki i przyszłych nauczycieli nad optymalizacją procesu nauczania i uczenia się w stosunku do każdego ucznia traktowanego jako niepowtarzalna jednostka mająca swoje potrzeby, zainteresowania i oczywiście określony stan zdrowia.
