The article constitutes a summary of the Final Report of the Commission Expert Group on European Insurance contract Law issued by the European Commission – Directorate General for Justice on 27 February 2014, within the scope of insurance contract law and differences in contract law between EU countries. The subject of the Report was an analysis of the problem, whether differences between national legal systems of the Member States within the scope of insurance contract create an obstacle to the cross-border provision of insurance. The article aims at presentation of the main points of the Report and summarizes the findings of the Experts, which are the most important from a legal point of view and may have the impact of further development of the common insurance contract law in the European Union, influencing for example also the direction of the works of the Restatement Group. Artykuł stanowi podsumowanie Raportu opublikowanego pod tytułem Final Report of the Commission Expert Group on European Insurance contract Law przez Komisję Europejską w dniu 27 lutego 2014 r. w zakresie prawa o umowie ubezpieczenia i różnic w prawie kontraktowym pomiędzy państwami członkowskimi Unii Europejskiej. Przedmiotem Raportu była analiza problemu, czy różnice w systemach prawnych krajowych państw członkowskich w zakresie umowy ubezpieczenia stanowią przeszkodę w świadczeniu usług ubezpieczeniowych cross-border. Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie najważniejszych aspektów Raportu i podsumowanie wniosków ekspertów, które mogą być najważniejsze z prawnego punktu widzenia oraz mają znaczenie dla dalszego rozwoju wspólnego prawa kontraktowego w Unii Europejskiej, wpływając na przykład na kierunek prac grupy Restatement.
