The author, a jazz musician himself, claims that the influence of the Christian ideas of the sacred and holiness has been an ever-present aspect in the development of jazz. He discusses the most outstanding works that reveal this kind of inspiration, referring to the albums of such musicians as Duke Ellington, John Coltrane (in particular his A Love Supreme), Billy Harper, Sonny Rollins, and Dave Brubeck. Special attention is given to Polish jazz and to the compositions inspired by the texts of Karol Wojtyła–John Paul II. Summarized by Patrycja Mikulska

Autor, muzyk jazzowy, ukazuje wpływ chrześcijańskich idei sacrum i świętości jako nieodłączny aspekt rozwoju muzyki jazzowej, wskazując najważniejsze dzieła, w których widoczne są tego rodzaju inspiracje. Wskazuje między innymi nagrania Duke’a Ellingtona, Johna Coltrane’a (zwłaszcza A Love Supreme), Billy’ego Harpera, Sonny’ego Rollinsa i Dave’a Brubecka. Szczególną uwagę poświęca polskiej muzyce jazzowej oraz kompozycjom zainspirowanym przez teksty Karola Wojtyły–Jana Pawła II.
