The Article „The Divine Mercy Novena in the context of paschal liturgy” shows links between the content of the novena and the Good Friday universal prayer and it explains on what basis it is prayed on certain concrete days. The article presents first the moment od St. Faustina’s apparitions of Jesus (March 26th, 1937) and of the writing down the novena (August 10th, 1937). Next, it depicts difficulties in the propagation of the novena and the role of Fr. Michał Sopoćko in the theological explanation of this form of prayer. The article’s second part compares the text for each day of the novena with the Good Friday universal prayer. The fact is underlined that this matter is to be seen within the context of the pre-conciliar liturgy. The third part explains the novena in the liturgical context of each day, that is, of entire paschal mystery: the Lord’s Passion, Death and Resurrection. The final conclusion shows how strictly interlinked is the novena with liturgical texts; and even though it was conceived 25 years before the Vaticanum II, it fulfills the pronouncement that pious exercises should flow out of the liturgy and lead back to it (cf. Sacrosanctum Concilium 13) thanks to the identical content of both.

Artykuł „Nowenna do Miłosierdzia Bożego w kontekście liturgii paschalnej” ukazuje powiązanie treściowe nowenny z modlitwą powszechną Wielkiego Piątku i uzasadnia dni, w których jest ona odmawiana. Opracowanie przedstawia najpierw moment objawień św. Faustyny (26.03.1937 r.) i spisania nowenny (10.08.1937 r.). Następnie pokazuje trudności z propagowaniem nowenny i rolę w wyjaśnianiu tej modlitwy przez bł. Michała Sopoćkę. Druga część porównuje treści poszczególnych dni nowenny z wezwaniami modlitwy powszechnej Wielkiego Piątku. Podkreślony jest też fakt, iż należy rozpatrywać to zagadnienie w kontekście liturgii przedsoborowej. Trzecia część artykułu wyjaśnia nowennę w kontekście dni, które należy rozumieć jako całe misterium paschalne, a więc mękę, śmierć i zmartwychwstanie. Końcowy wniosek ukazuje ścisły związek nowenny z tekstami liturgicznymi i choć powstała ona 25 lat przed Soborem Watykańskim II, to wpisuje się w ducha Kościoła, że nabożeństwa powinny wypływać z liturgii i do niej prowadzić (por. KL 13). Tak oto treści tych obu form są tożsame.

The article deals with the teaching and scientific-journalistic activities of bl. Michael Sopocko to the apostolate for the truth about the mercy of God and the cult of the Divine Mercy. Bl. Michael inspired by the revelations of the mercy of God received by St. Faustina Kowalska, undertook the verification of these revelations, and then the apostolate of ideas and the cult of Divine Mercy. Over the decades, he has published a number of works which showed the truth about the mercy of God, represented the essence of the devotion to the Divine Mercy and justified the need for the introduction of the cult of Divine Mercy with a separate holiday. His works are presented in this article in chronological order, and their short presentation in terms of content. In the whole dissertation is shown an important and pioneering contribution of bl. Michael in the promotion of the cult of Divine Mercy since the very beginning. The teaching of the truth of God's mercy and explanation of the essence of the cult, together with motifs of the introduction are based on a solid biblical, theological, liturgical and pastoral foundation. This appears to be a unique role of bl. Michael Sopocko in spreading the cult of Divine Mercy in modern times, although not sufficiently understood and appreciated yet.

Artykuł traktuje o nauczaniu i naukowo-publicystycznej działalności bł. Michała Sopoćki na rzecz apostolstwa prawdy o miłosierdziu Bożym oraz kultu Miłosierdzia Bożego. Bł. Michał zainspirowany objawieniami o miłosierdziu Bożym, przekazanymi św. Faustynie Kowalskiej, podjął się weryfikacji tych objawień, a następnie apostolstwa idei i kultu Miłosierdzia Bożego. Na przestrzeni kilkudziesięciu lat opublikował szereg prac, w których ukazywał prawdę o miłosierdziu Bożym, przedstawiał istotę nabożeństwa do Miłosierdzia Bożego oraz uzasadniał potrzebę wprowadzenia kultu Miłosierdzia Bożego z odrębnym świętem. W artykule, w ujęciu chronologicznym, są przedstawione prace bł. Michała oraz ich krótka prezentacja pod względem treści. W całości opracowania ukazany jest istotny i pionierski wkład bł. Michała w promocję kultu Miłosierdzia Bożego od początków jego powstania. Nauczanie o prawdzie miłosierdzia Bożego oraz wyjaśnienie istoty kultu wraz z motywami jego wprowadzenia osadzone jest na solidnych podstawach biblijnych, teologicznych, liturgicznych i pastoralnych. W tym jawi się niepowtarzalna rola bł. Michała Sopoćki w upowszechnieniu kultu Miłosierdzia Bożego we współczesnych czasach, choć jeszcze nie wystarczająco poznana i doceniona.
