The aim of this article is to discuss two analogically constructed words "babiniec" and "chłopiniec" functioning with different meanings in dialects and in contemporary general Polish. The history of both words is presented, their territorial range, the degree of their lexicographic documentation, their meanings and development in various varieties of the Polishlanguage (dialects and general Polish).

Celem niniejszego artykułu jest omówienie dwóch wyrazów analogicznie zbudowanych słowotwórczo 'babiniec' i 'chłopiniec' funkcjonujących w różnych znaczeniach w gwarach i we współczesnej polszczyźnie ogólnej. Przedstawione zostały dzieje obu wyrazów, ich zasięg terytorialny, stopień ich udokumentowania leksykograficznego, ich znaczenia oraz rozwój w różnych odmianach polszczyzny (gwarowej i ogólnej).
