Artykuł jest poświęcony analizie pedagogicznego potencjału zapatrywań filozoficznych Piotra Czaadajewa, jednego z najważniejszych rosyjskich myślicieli pierwszej połowy XIX wieku. Celem pracy jest wyodrębnienie z jego historiozo-ficznych rozważań, zawartych w Listach (filozoficznych) i Apologii obłąkanego, kom-ponentów mających – zdaniem autora – fundamentalne znaczenie dla wychowania człowieka jako konstytutywnego elementu jego edukacji. Wśród nich można wymie-nić synergię rozumu i wiary, wolność i dialogiczną relacyjność. Refleksja Czaadajewa, chociaż osadzona w realiach połowy XIX wieku, to interesujący materiał do przemyśleń na temat skomplikowanych relacji Rosja–Zachód, których konsekwencji do-świadczamy także we współczesnych czasach.

This article analyses the pedagogical potential of the philosophical outlooks of Pyotr Chaadayev, one of the most significant Russian thinkers of the first half of the 19th century. The aim is to extract from his historiosophical reflections, contained in his (Philosophical) Letters and Apologie d’un Fou (Apologia of the Insane), the com-ponents that are fundamentally important for the education of man as a constitutive element of his education. These components include the synergy of reason and faith, freedom and dialogical relationality. Although Chaadayev’s concept is rooted in the re-alities of the mid-19th century, this article also provides valuable insights into the com-plex Russia-West relations, the consequences of which are still felt today.
