Horses have accompanied mankind for centuries in various fields of activity. One of them is horse racing. The purpose of the article (based on the analysis of the literature) is to present the elements determining that Thoroughbreds racing can be regarded as a global phenomenon. Among them, a special role is played by the dissemination of this form of racing, related to the history of this breed as well as the possibility that these horses are a global „product” because of global standards. This is a consequence of the system for developing and standardization of breeding in the world. Based on empirical research and literature, there are presented flows of plant products (feed and padding), necessary for the proper functioning of horse farms and maintaining of horses in the proper condition. The flows are a model (universal horse farm) and they do not consider specialization arising from the use of different types of horses. An important element of conducted considerations are supply chain network elements constituting the horse industry. Variability of individual cells of formed chains is a consequence of the relationship and the characteristics of the analyzed good.

Szczególne znaczenie dla ich funkcjonowania ma odpowiednia organizacja podmiotów i instytucji krajowych oraz regionalnych, których efektywna współpraca wpływa nie tylko na osiągane wyniki zootechniczne i gospodarcze w wymiarze kontynentalnym, ale także przyczynia się do utrzymywania wysokiej pozycji na arenie światowej. Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie systemu wyścigów konnych, tworzonego przez jego uczestników na terytorium Australii, oraz pozycji australijskich wyścigów w gospodarce światowej.

Australian horse racing is, next to the U.S. and Japan, one of the largest racing systems in the world. Particular significance for functioning of this system is connected with the proper organisation of different entities and national and regional institutions. This network of the effective co-operation influences the achieved economic and zootechnical results. It also helps to maintain a high position on the world horse industry. This article presents a system of horse racing, created by the participants in Australia, and the Australian racing position in the global horse business.

Imprezy masowe stanowią istotny element funkcjonowania współczesnych miast, a  ich organizacja wymaga stworzenia właściwej infrastruktury spełniającej standardy wynikające z  regulacji formalno-prawnych oraz związanych ze specyfiką branżową organizowanego przedsięwzięcia. Odpowiednia infrastruktura logistyczna stanowi podstawę kreowania systemu bezpieczeństwa przeprowadzanego przedsięwzięcia oraz w istotny sposób wpływa na poziom obsługi klienta (widza). Dlatego też celem niniejszego artykułu jest przedstawienie najważniejszych uwarunkowań w obszarze infrastruktury logistycznej związanych z organizacją i przeprowadzeniem imprezy masowej o charakterze sportowym i rozrywkowym, determinowanych specyfiką imprezy, jaką są pokazy jeździeckie, oraz wymogami formalnymi wynikającymi z ustawy o bezpieczeństwie imprez masowych.

Mass events are an important element for the functioning of modern cities. Their organization requires the creation of appropriate infrastructure that meets the standards resulting from formal and legal regulations and related to the specific of industry (sector). Suitably logistics infrastructure is the basis for creating a security system carried out the project and significantly affects the level of customer service (the viewer). Therefore, the aim of this article is to present the most important determinants in the area of logistics infrastructure connected with the organization and execution of an event of mass sports and entertainment, determinate by specifics of events that are riding shows and formal requirements under the Act for the Safety of Mass Events.
