Instytut Rozwoju Miast po ponad 10 latach od wprowadzenia w Polsce gospodarki rynkowej przeprowadził badanie ankietowe wśród studentów na temat "Młodzi na rynku mieszkaniowym". Wyniki wskazują, że badana populacje młodych ludzi cechuje realizm w ocenie możliwosci zaspokojenia własnych potrzeb mieszkaniowych. W odróżnieniu od wyników wcześniejszych badań młodzi ludzie akceptują reguły rynku mieszkaniowego i bardziej licza na własne siły, wspomagane kredytem mieszkaniowym i pomocą rodziny, aniżeli na programy rzadowe.

After more than 10 years from the introduction of market economy in Poland, the Institute of Urban Development in Kraków, Poland, conducted a survey among university students called "The Young on the Housing Market". The results show that the investigated population of young people is characterised by realistic assessment of potentials for satisfying own housing needs. In contrast to the results of earlier surveys, young people now accept the rules of the housing market and wish to depend on themselves, supported by housing loans and help of their families rather than on government programmes.
