This article seeks to explore how positive psychology can benefit human formation as an essential part of preparation for the priesthood by promoting the development of strengths, rather than solely focusing on overcoming human weaknesses. Through this approach, the author suggests ways in which incorporating a positive psychology perspective along with epistemological rules as well as an anthropological point of view can further the multidisciplinary dialogue between the worlds of grace and the social sciences.

This article aims to show the possibility of an academic approach to teaching the Catholic religion at school to the liturgical rites of the Catholic Church from a cultural perspective. Liturgical rites consist of numerous signs and symbols that refer to the human dimension, which seeks what is beautiful, true, and good. At all levels, one of the main objectives of Italian and European schools is to teach, educate, and raise responsible and upright citizens. Therefore, while contributing to the general formation of the human being at school, the teaching of Catholic religion also draws students closer, in cultural terms, to the great code, i.e., the liturgy of the Catholic Church. It is certainly a form of public and social communication. It is education in action. In this sense, for example, it could be a considerable and systematic cultural opportunity for Ukrainian students residing in Poland, a chance to learn the symbolic language of the Catholic liturgy in the perspective of reaching human maturity without fear of proselytism from the Catholic Church. This article in no way intends to diminish the intrinsic value of the liturgy in the life of the Church, understood as a celebration, proclamation, commemoration, promise, and moral call whose purpose is to transform or transfigure the person so that he/she is oriented toward the highest good, i.e., God, and able to live a life of mutual love

This article discusses the five fundamental dimensions of the "Activity Program Positive Personal Development" (APPRO) formation program. It is addressed not only to the environment of the Church, seminarians, priests, and male and female religious, but also to anyone who wishes to grow in well-being within a Catholic context. APPRO is a positive psychological approach. The five dimensions relevant to human formation of candidates to the priesthood and religious life include: gratitude, time management, accepting challenges, emotions, and spirituality. All those elements are integral to human flourishing and indirectly bound with the quality of vocation and the mission of the Church.

Priestly vocation is a great gift placed in a fragile vessel of a human heart (2 Cor. 4,7). This raises gratitude to God but also the need to care for yourself, especially for intensive human formation, since it is difficult to be a mature priest without being a mature human. Taking advantage of anthropological study a spiritual seminary should initiate in its seminarians such a dynamics of development which will last a lifetime. The idea is to live maturely, consciously and deeply so the priesthood was the way to realize God’s vocation, not a way to search yourself. The concern to attain such maturity will demand getting to know yourself, the capability to build relationships, achieving a balance in the emotional realm, ability to make responsible choices, healthy conscience and pastoral love. In the end the point is to shape your humanity on the model of Christ the Good Shepherd. Everybody is personally responsible for their development but nobody is alone on this way. We receive a vocation in Church and for Church therefore by seminary tutors it accompanies us in the process of discernment and realization of vocation. They will fulfill their mission only when they are people of mature and consistent personality because the tutor himself is always the most creative tool of upbringing. They should also show a good understanding of a human person on their emotional, intellectual and spiritual level since then they will understand and support seminary students and make appropriate decisions concerning their future.

In the paper Care of the self and human development the author would like to draw readers` attention to the concept of self-care. This concept, according to the Czech philosopher Jan Patočka, is crucial for humanity formation. Patočka and another 20 century thinker Michel Foucault tried to revive the tradition of the care of the self. It is a matter of fact that this tradition lost its significance in the modern time partially because of the growing importance of scientific approaches toward human being. Despite this, care of the self can still be an important element in the human life. Care of the self can be understood as an alternative in the world dominated by scientism and instrumentalism because it tries to see human development as a process in which two approaches scientific and spiritual become one in the art of living.
