The main goal of the article is to evaluate the strategy of human policy of the Świętokrzyskie region in the years 2012–2020, particularly assumptions of human policy. The analysis showed that most of operational objectives and measures proposed in the strategy has of a social nature. They focus on ensuring existence conditions for the most vulnerable groups of society of the region. According to the author implementation of modern human policy in the region is to facilitate the creation job, access increasing to educational services and health care and the development of civic activity. Insufficient interest in the mentioned issues cannot reduce the size of the poverty in the region, but will continue to increase social needs, making human policy ineffective.

Celem artykułu jest ocena strategii polityki społecznej województwa świętokrzyskiego na lata 2012–2020, w szczególności przyjętych w jej ramach założeń polityki społecznej. Analiza wykazała, że większość celów operacyjnych i działań zaproponowanych w dokumencie strategii ma charakter socjalny. Koncentrują się one na zagwarantowaniu materialnych warunków bytu najsłabszym grupom społeczeństwa województwa. Zdaniem autora warunkiem realizacji nowoczesnej polityki społecznej w województwie jest tworzenie i rozwijanie warunków ułatwiających tworzenie miejsc pracy, dostęp do usług edukacyjnych i opieki zdrowotnej oraz rozwój aktywności obywatelskiej. Niewystarczające zainteresowanie wymienionymi zagadnieniami nie ograniczy rozmiaru biedy w regionie, natomiast będzie stale zwiększać potrzeby socjalne, czyniąc politykę społeczną nieskuteczną.
