In the article, the Author discussed selected images of Tadeusz Kościuszko by Michał Stachowicz (1768–1825) – a painter, drawer and graphic artist from Cracow, known mainly as the creator of scenes commemorating important historical events, in particular related to the Kościuszko Uprising. The artist has created several dozen works (oil paintings, gouaches, drawings) showing the figure of the Chief, repeated many times in different shots. These are both portraits (individual and group) as well as collective, historical, battle and allegorical scenes. On all these compositions, Kościuszko appears as a commander, national hero, defender of the Homeland, a steadfast man.

W artykule omówiono wybrane przedstawienia Tadeusza Kościuszki pędzla Michała Stachowicza (1768–1825) – krakowskiego malarza, rysownika i grafika, znanego głównie jako twórcę scen upamiętniających ważne wydarzenia historyczne, w szczególności związane z insurekcją kościuszkowską. Artysta ten stworzył kilkadziesiąt prac (obrazy olejne, gwasze, rysunki) ukazujących postać Naczelnika, powielanych wielokrotnie w różnych ujęciach. Są to zarówno portrety (indywidualne i grupowe), jak i sceny zbiorowe o charakterze historycznym, batalistycznym oraz alegorycznym. Na wszystkich tych kompozycjach Kościuszko jawi się jako wódz, bohater narodowy, obrońca ojczyzny, człowiek niezłomny.
