The article includes discussion about the influence of different communities and nations on security culture. It concerns a phenomenon of “informational society”. There is explained the difference between the definitions of “information” and “communication”. It also shows the origin of the technological revolution, which gave the basis for the technical framework of computerization in the countries leading in science and technology. Consequently, “informational society” appeared. From the 70’s it has gained international importance by entering with a strong accent in the processes of globalization. Information management is very important not only to political and economic processes, but also during conflicts originating for example from terrorism. Regardless of the scientific and technological progress, we are dealing with consumerism, and decreasing level of education which accompany globalization. The values are currently not sufficiently identified and internalized, and thus, currently their use is experiencing a setback. This crisis along with it the phenomenon of decrease of responsibility, lack of ethical and intellectual hygiene in the use of multimedia, can bring numerous risks. The author doubts the possibility of creating a unified global civil society. A sense of communication with the society and co-responsibility for it drifts away. Thus lowers the level of security culture and the real possibility of autonomous human development. This problems are waiting for their identification and to take concrete actions to build security culture in the spirit of sustainable development.
