Ryzyko związane z instrumentami pochodnymi oraz wzrost ich popularności wśród coraz szerszego grona podmiotów zdeterminowały sformułowanie w niniejszym opracowaniu dwóch podstawowych celów. Jednym z nich jest ocena wykorzystania instrumentów pochodnych przez przedsiębiorstwa niefinansowe w Polsce w latach 2012-2016. Natomiast drugi dotyczy przedstawienia opinii inwestorów oraz analityków na temat stosowania instrumentów pochodnych przez spółki niefinansowe w Polsce. Na potrzeby realizacji założonych celów wykorzystano następujące metody badawcze: opisowa, porównawcza, analiza literatury przedmiotu, analiza wyników badań obcych, autorskie badania ankietowe. Wybrany przedmiot badań zdeterminował strukturę i zawartość pracy. Rozpoczęto od przedstawienia istoty instrumentów pochodnych, a także ryzyka towarzyszącego ich stosowaniu. Dalej dokonano omówienia wykorzystania instrumentów pochodnych przez przedsiębiorstwa niefinansowe w Polsce. Następnie zaprezentowano analizę wyników badania własnego i zakończono wnioskami dotyczącymi przedmiotu pracy.

The risk related to derivative instruments and the increase in their popularity among an increasing number of entities determined goals of this study. One of them is the presentation of using of derivative instruments by non-financial enterprises in Poland in 2012- -2016. The second goal concerns the analysis of investors’ and analysts’ opinions on using derivative instruments by non-financial companies in Poland. Methods which have been used: descriptive, comparative, literature analysis, analysis of third-party research results and analysis of the results of individual survey research. The selected subject of research determined the structure and content of this paper. The nature of derivative instruments, as well as the risks associated with their using, will be presented first. Next, using derivative instruments by non-financial enterprises in Poland will be discussed. Finally; the author’s research results and conclusions will be analysed.
