This article sums up and presents in chronological order the successive stages in the endeavours of the inhabitants of Spycimierz parish and Uniejów municipality to have Flower carpets tradition for Corpus Christi processions. entered on the  UNESCO’s Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. The success of these efforts would not have been possible without active engagement of the local community and close cooperation with Uniejów municipality authorities. It can provide an inspiration for other municipalities to take actions aimed at safeguarding of unique cultural heritage.

Artykuł stanowi podsumowanie i chronologiczne uporządkowanie kolejnych etapów starań mieszkańców parafii Spycimierz i gminy Uniejów o wpis na Listę reprezentatywną niematerialnego dziedzictwa kulturowego ludzkości UNESCO, zwieńczonych sukcesem. Przedstawia ścieżkę dojścia do tego zaszczytnego tytułu, którego osiągnięcie nie byłoby możliwe bez dużego zaangażowania lokalnej społeczności i ścisłej współpracy z władzami gminy Uniejów. Artykuł może stanowić inspirację dla innych gmin do podejmowania działań na rzecz ochrony niezwykle istotnego dziedzictwa niematerialnego.
