Emocjonalna gotowość do dialogu z osobą odmienną kulturowo obecnych i przyszłych pracowników socjalnych

The aim of the research was to find differences in the level of emotional readiness to dialogue with a culturally different person between current and future social workers. The survey method was used in the research, and the research tool was the Intercultural Sensitivity Scale by Guo-Ming Chen and William J. Starosta. The research covered two groups of people: social workers and students of the last year of first and second cycle studies in the field of social work, 40 people in both groups. The analysis of the results showed that the level of readiness to contact a culturally different person of both studied group can be described as average in some dimensions, such as mindfulness/urgency in interaction with the tendency towards high results. The social workers surveyed performed slightly better in this analysis. However, the difference between them and the candidates for social workers is small.

Celem badań była próba ustalenia różnic w poziomie emocjonalnej gotowości do dialogu z osobą odmienną kulturowo między obecnymi i przyszłymi pracownikami socjalnymi. W badaniach zastosowano metodę sondażu diagnostycznego z narzędziem badawczym w postaci Skali Wrażliwości Międzykulturowej autorstwa Guo-Ming Chena i Williama J. Starosty. Badaniami objęto dwie grupy osób: pracowników socjalnych oraz studentów ostatniego roku studiów I i II stopnia na kierunku praca socjalna, po 40 osób w obu grupach. Analiza uzyskanych wyników wykazała, że poziom gotowości do kontaktu z osobą odmienną kulturowo badanych grup osób można określić jako przeciętny w niektórych wymiarach, jak chociażby uważność/pilność w interakcji, z tendencją ku wynikom wysokim. Nieznacznie lepiej w tej analizie wypadli badani pracownicy socjalni. Różnica między nimi a kandydatami na pracowników socjalnych jest jednak niewielka.
