The goal of this paper is to present interdisciplinary environmental studies in urban park. Simple measures are proposed here for evaluating the status of vegetation and its habitat. When systematically applied, these measures could be a basis for sustainable management of the park greenery. Studies performed in Skaryszewski Park in Warsaw are as an example. Studies confirmed the assumption that simple and relatively cheap field and laboratory methods could be a good basis for recognising the status of plant habitats in parks.

Religious studies similarly as ethnography, or let us say ethnology, constituted into an independent discipline on its own. This was only possible after the establishment of other institutions which in return could provide them with empirical material that would suffice for at least some basic research. Although religious studies will probably always diverge in the fulfilment of their goals from cultural and social anthropological disciplines, they can enrich ethnology with methodical multiperspective research and analytical methodological techniques. This will help to place the often incomplete picture of folk culture, and especially its spiritual aspect, in a general historical context. The documentation drawn by Dušan Jurkovič in 1892 was used during the reconstruction of the original appearance from the end of the eighteenth century (exterior and inner arrangement from the closing period of its existence). The documentation was complemented with information from archival sources, contexts of historical situation (political and religious), analogical elements and technologies proved by similar buildings of this kind in the lands of former Habsburg monarchy. The only artefacts based on material model are earthen hip knobs with weathercocks on the rooftop and a memorial plaque on the ceiling, whose originals are deposited in the Museum of region of Wallachia.

The aim of this paper is to specify the multiplier effects that are induced in the national economy in reference to the construction of Hyperloop lines in Poland using tunnel and trestle technology. In particular, we calculate the added value and employment growth for several industries that will contribute to the construction process. We use an input-output analysis that enables us to take the detailed structure of inter-industry linkages in Poland into account. According to our results, constructing a Hyperloop infrastructure in Poland would have the greatest stimulating impact on several sectors of the Polish economy, including crude oil and natural gas, metal ores, other mining products, building objects and construction work, products from other non-metallic raw materials, finished metal products, land and pipeline transport, and wholesale trade. However, this impact will be affected by the choice of construction technology (tunnel versus trestle). In addition, our calculations relate to particular routes of the potential Hyperloop network. This study contributes to the body of literature on transport infrastructures and public investments as well as Hyperloop technology development. Additionally, it contributes to the econometric methodology by employing an input-output analysis for forecasting the multiplier effects of constructing a Hyperloop system. This study has practical implications for the decision-making process on Hyperloop network development in the future.

Rozważania odniesiono do koncepcji programowej Profesora Jana Dylika, przedstawionej w artykule Rozwój myśli badawczej w łódzkim ośrodku geomorfologicznym, którego przedruk rozpoczyna niniejszy zeszyt. Aktualna pozostaje istota metod badawczych, określana przed laty jako geomorfologia dynamiczna, a obecnie oznaczająca wykorzystywanie coraz szerszego i nowocześniejszego wachlarza metod interdyscyplinarnych. Wyrażono opinię, że rozwój wiedzy nad zmieniającym się i zróżnicowanym przestrzennie środowiskiem morfogenetycznym obszaru jest proporcjonalny do upływu czasu.

Considerations are related to the conception of Professor Jan Dylik, presented in the article Rozwój myśli badawczej w łódzkim ośrodku geomorfologicznym (in Polish with French summary) from 1958, the reprint of which begins this volume. Four problems were selected (dynamic geomorphology, cover deposits as the evidence of periglacial morphogeny, geological mapping and application of geological maps to palaeogeographical interpretations, geomorphologi-cal mapping and geomorphic maps at various scales) for which the evidence of the negation of or the continuation of the J. Dylik’s idea was considered. It has been shown that the leading issues of the Łódź geomorphological school were in the research profile of the Department of Quaternary Research only one of the tasks. Formulated in 1958 a research program was continued at the level of general principles, understood as the study of the polygenesis of central Poland relief. Research methods are still in use and refer to a dynamic geomorphology, but now it denotes the use of an wider and modern range of interdisciplinary methods. Expressed is opinion that the development of knowledge on the changing and diverse environment spatially morphogenetic environment, which is the heritage Professor Jan Dylik idea, is proportional to time.

The last twenty years have brought discoveries which provide a large number of sources concerning the archaeology of the Roman Period in the Lublin region. The interdisciplinary studies related to site 5 in Nieszawa Kolonia, Opole Lubelskie district, Lublin region, Poland, have generated a substantial part of these new sources. The multi-aspectual analysis of archaeological and biological sources allowed us to characterize of the economy of the dwellers of the settlement which was constituted by agriculture, animal husbandry and fishing. The relative chronology of the settlement was established, and the first stage of its functioning was determined as belonging to phase B2, until phase C1a inclusive. The second stage of the utilisation of the settlement is dated to phase C3-D1. Three instances of radiocarbon dating confirm the chronological frame established by relative dating. The presented analysis of selected archaeological sources from site 5 in Nieszawa Kolonia, especially of ceramic material, seems to confirm the possibility that in the early Roman period, in the Lublin region, especially in its western part, infiltration of Dacian cultural elements into the Przeworsk environment took place. It is undeniable that the chronology of the settlement in Nieszawa Kolonia extends beyond the established time frame assumed for the functioning of the Przeworsk culture in the Lublin region. It is possible that in the late Roman Period the history of the settlement in question is part of a series of changes that took place in the areas of Barbaricum and Roman provinces. Some of the settlers of northern origin could have returned to the former settlements. The settlement in the mesoregion of the Lesser Poland Gorge of the Vistula is of particular importance for the revision of previous interpretations of the cultural changes taking place in the Lublin region in the Roman Period and in the early Migration Period.

Professor Janusz Dunin-Horkawicz (b. 26 June 1931 in Vilna, d. 27 July 2007 in Łódź) was a humanist, university lecturer and social activist. His scholarly interests encompassed the theory and practice of social communication by means of the written word and iconic images; the history of literary, children’s and popular books; librarianship and bibliophilism. In his reflection on the world of printed matter, Dunin used several parallel discourses: bibliological, bibliophilic and media studiesdiscourse. In order to describe Dunin’s achievements, we would have to abandon the entire encyclopaedia- and dictionary-based conceptual framework we use to describe scholars. Descriptions like eminent literature scholar, popular culture scholar, media studies expert, bibliologist, bibliophile are applicable to some extent, but they do not describe all of Professor Dunin’s competencies, limiting the discussion about his role in the humanities today. As a scholar Dunin followed his own path in pursuit of learning; he had a unique gift for observing the world of books and literature, and his vast knowledge enabled him to move effortlessly across various research fields. Consequently, his conclusions were cross-disciplinary and were expressed in a light style combining scientific approach with popular appeal. According to the author of this article, Professor Dunin’s legacy deserves to be analysed in detail by contemporary scholars.

The text is devoted to affective repertoire in cultural studies. The author discusses one of the many effects (B. Massumi) in it and signals its consequences in the following topics: the subject’s formation, theories of body and emanation, political and critical theories, queer, reflections on melancholy and trauma, affect and memory. The interest in affective rejection was disappointing with the current research methodologies inspired by the linguistic turn of the reading methods, the analysis of works of art, epistemology, politics, etc. At the end of the text the author draws attention to the positive results of the new methodology as well as to possible threats.

Four kinds of research are conducted in pastoral theology: monodisciplinary, multidisciplinary, interdisciplinary and intradisciplinary. The first kind is characterized by a common aim and a common method, the second – by a common aim and different methods, the third one – by different aims and different methods, and the fourth one – by a common aim and different methods. Multidisciplinary, interdisciplinary and intradisciplinary research is necessary for modern theology, but to conduct it, excellent qualifications of a theologian-pastoralist are necessary. The paradigm of pastoral theology is based on practical syllogism. In the construction of this syllogism the major premise contains the norms for the given problem, and the minor premise contains the analysis of actual reality; and the conclusion has a normative and actual character. At every stage of research of the paradigm of pastoral theology different working methods are used. At the first (ecclesiological) research stage of the pastoral theology the paradigm the deductive method is used, but also the comparative method, the positive method, exegesis, interpretation of the text, analogy, etc. At the second (kairological) research stage the historical-theological method is used, the sociological-theological method, methods used in empirical sciences, as well as observations, interviews, surveys, and studies based on a questionnaire. In studies based on documents historical methods are used, the method of source criticism and interpretation, the comparative method, analysis of the text, etc. At the third (praxeological) research stage of the pastoral theology paradigm the method of synthesis, the method of interpretation, the method of classification, etc. are used.
