Educational intergeneration house – innovation of actions for intergeneration integration

Intergenerational education and intergenerational integration are one of the most important challenges caused by the aging of Polish society and its consequences. The area of these challenges includes searching for new institutional forms for integration and intergenerational education. The article presents a project of an intergenerational educational house consisting of: intergenerational home, community club, day care centre for the elderly. The planned institution fits in with the ideas of Polish social pedagogy and social work, aimed at releasing social strengths both in the individual, group and local community dimension. The basis of the described institution's activity is the broadly understood education, including intergenerational education, which not only serves the enrichment and further development of its students, but also promotes social solidarity, identifies and uses the potential of individuals, groups and the local environment.

Dzięki różnym formom utrwalania rzeczywistości zachowujemy pamięć o wydarzeniach minionych. Ważne miejsce w tym procesie przypada autobiografii, która nie tylko, w sposób subiektywny i selektywny, archiwizuje przeżycia autora, ale również je porządkuje i systematyzuje. Nadaje im także znaczenie w wymiarze środowiskowym oraz międzypokoleniowym. Nie jest bowiem tylko zbiorem faktów, ale stanowi refleksję nad człowiekiem, światem jego wartości. Odpowiadając na pytania z przeszłości pozwala lepiej kształtować przyszłość lokalną jak również globalną.

We can retain past experiences in our memory thanks to various forms of recording the reality. Autobiography holds an important position in this process, as it not only archives the author’s experiences in a subjective and selective way, but it also systematizes and orders them. Autobiography also makes these experiences more meaningful in the regional and intergenerational dimension. It is not only a collection of facts, but it also includes reflections on a human being and their values. Answering questions from the past, autobiography allows us to shape the local and the global future in a better way.
