Artykuł opisuje wyścigi samochodowe oraz działalność czeskiego i czechosłowackiego Autoklubu od jego założenia w 1904 r. do 1928 r. Działalność Autoklubu zanalizowano głownie pod kątem powstania i działalności elit społecznych w międzywojennej Czechosłowacji. Dzięki kontaktom jego przedstawicieli z wiodącymi politykami i przemysłowcami w kraju, Autoklub Republiki Czechosłowackiej był bardzo wpływową organizacją. W pierwszej dekadzie swojego istnienia w międzywojennej Czechosłowacji Autoklub wykorzystał stabilizację gospodarczą i późniejszą koniunkturę ekonomiczną.

The article looks into motor racing and the activities of the Czech and Czechoslovak Autoclub since its establishment in 1904 until 1928. The activity of the Autoklub is analyzed mainly in connection with the establishment and activities of the social elites in interwar Czechoslovakia. Thanks to its representatives’ contacts with leading politicians and industrialists in the country, the Autoklub of the Czechoslovak Republic was a very influential organization. In its activities, it benefited from economic stabilization and the subsequent economic boom in the first decade of the existence of interwar Czechoslovakia

Patriarcha Miron był jedną z najważniejszych osób w Rumuńskim Kościele Prawosławnym. Jego dokonania mają charakter historyczny. Jako przykład wspomnieć należy spowodowanie ogromnego zaangażowania osób świeckich w życiu kościelnym. Doprowadził do otwarcia Rumuńskiego Kościoła Prawosławnego na świat przez organizowanie szeregu konferencji międzynarodowych, liczne podróże do Ziemi Świętej i aktywną pomoc siostrzanym Kościołom. Jakkolwiek docenić należy jego zdolności organizacyjne, w szczególności jednak podkreślić trzeba jego głęboką duchowość. Był znany, jako postać wspierająca prawosławie w Polsce; dobrym przyjacielem hierarchów Kościoła prawosławnego w Polsce. Jego śmierć została odnotowana długimi dniami żałoby kościelnej w naszym państwie.

The Patriarch Miron was one of the most important person in Rumanian Orthodox Church. His achievements influenced in the History. For instance: his Orthodox Reform permitted laics become more active participant in the religious life. He opened the Rumanian Orthodox Church in the world by organising conferences, especially travels to the Holy Land, helping to the neighbour Churches and so on. His organising possibilities were very important, but more significant was His spiritual life. As a Patriarch he was also a great Supporter to the polish Orthodox and amicable friend polish Orthodox Hierarchy. So his dead caused in Poland a long period of funeral days.

This paper presents the results of nine seasons of the joint Polish-Siovak archaeological mission in Tell ei-Retaba in Wadi Tumilat, conducted since 2007. The results of the excavation have been published so far in several preliminary reports. The work of the Polish-Siovak team at the site has brought new insights into the long history of the site and corrected some outdated information, based on more or less regular initial surveys and excavations. In this article, the main features of the settlement in respective periods are described, starting with the oldest occupation phase during the Second Intermediate Period, represented by a cemetery and a settlement. The excavated archaeological material sheds more light on the problematic end of this period and informs us about life during the early New Kingdom. It has enabled us to much better reconstruct the development of the Ramesside fortresses with their elaborated fortification system, temple as well as buildings for their inhabitants. Important proofs of far-reaching international contacts with the regions of Levant as well as the Aegean have been found. Last but not least, the later life of the settlement during the Third Intermediate Period can now be partly reconstructed, showing the continuing importance of the site.
