The paper aims to solve the following issue: can mobile internet communicator be qualified as the document according to the Article 773 of the Polish Civil Code? First of all, the author explains the specificity of mobile internet communicators in comparison with other means of electronic communication. In the further part, the author presents the most significant problems regarding the interpretation of the term .document. in the Polish legal doctrine. This part of the paper shows that it is unclear, whether information carrier should be persistent in order to function as the document according to the Polish Civil Code. The majority of Polish legal scholars adopts the position that persistence constitutes the nature of the document. The essence of the paper are considerations concerning the main issue of the article, which lead to the conclusion that mobile internet communicator is capable of playing the role of the document. Following statement can be justified by the fact that users of such communicators usually use them to make declarations of will in the meaning of the Polish civil law.
