The article is an anthropological-ethical analysis concerning the relation between the dialog and the truth in its objective understanding (the truth about personal values) and subjective one (the truth as authenticity/real being). In the course of the considerations existentialist and realist understanding of the relation between the truth, encounter and dialog are presented and their pedagogical implications are pointed to. The truth is understood in its pragmatic dimension as the basis of community and its following aspects are pointed to: authenticity (the condition for the encounter) and the axiological truth (the result of the encounter). „The encounter” and „the dialog” are defined from the perspective of the personalist conception of man. Only in this meaning these two concepts, apart from the cognitive value (learning the truth) have a personalist value, as they are a condition of the development of a person as such. The analysis that is made in the article allows distinguishing the apparent dialog, that is a danger for the person's identity, and the true dialog, that co-constitutes community. Moreover, it is stated that only realist understanding of „authenticity” allows understanding this category as a condition of interpersonal dialog, as it is in such a sense that the truth is not only a subjective (authenticity), but an objective (the truth of the transmitted contents) condition of the interpersonal dialog. Authenticity, on the other hand, is also a condition and a result of the interpersonal bond.
