The aim of the article is to analyze and evaluate the investment activity of logistics companies in Poland. In the publication used published GUS data characterizing the functioning of logistics companies in 2010–2017, in particular their activity in the area of investment in fixed assets. The empirical analysis were based on selected economic indicators: the rate of investment intensity, the value of capital expenditures for the purchase of fixed assets dynamics of this value.

Celem artykułu jest analiza i ocena działalności inwestycyjnej przedsiębiorstw logistycznych w Polsce. W opracowaniu wykorzystano publikowane dane GUS charakteryzujące funkcjonowanie przedsiębiorstw logistycznych w latach 2010–2017, w szczególności ich aktywność w obszarze inwestycji w środki trwałe. Przeprowadzona analiza została oparta na wybranych wskaźnikach ekonomicznych dot. działalności inwestycyjnej. Wykorzystano m.in. takie zmienne jak wartość i dynamikę nakładów na zakup środków trwałych oraz wskaźniki intensywności inwestowania.

Warunkiem zapewnienia trwałego funkcjonowania przedsiębiorstwa w gospodarce rynkowej, obok sprawności bieżącego zarządzania, jest również podejmowanie trafnych decyzji dotyczących rozwoju przedsiębiorstwa. Rozwój ten zasadniczo dokonuje się poprzez realizację inwestycji, w tym inwestycji rzeczowych. Istnieje wiele metod pozwalających ocenić efektywność realizowanych przedsięwzięć inwestycyjnych. Jedną z nich jest metoda wartości zaktualizowanej netto – NPV. Metoda ta posiadająca zarówno wady, jak i zalety uznawana jest za jedno z ważniejszych kryteriów wyboru projektu inwestycyjnego. Celem opracowania było przedstawienie metody NPV oraz jej odmian.

A condition to ensure a sustainable activity of enterprises in the market economy, in addition to the efficiency of the operating management, is also making the right decisions for the company’s development. This development is generally done through the implementation of investments, including physical investments. There are several methods to assess the effectiveness of ongoing investment projects. One of the most commonly used method is the net present value – NPV. The purpose of article is to present the NPV method and its variants.
