2012 marked an informal jubilee of Stefan Grabiński on account of his 125th birth anniversary. That is why within the project titled “Grabiński, Grotesque and Horror” a series of academic and cultural events were organized, highlighting the meaning of the title phenomena in the Polish mentality in recent years. It turns out that the idea which originated in Przemyśl found plenty of followers in many other towns in Poland, What is more, there were a lot of initiatives devoted to Grabiński in 2012 though not implemented under the project. This shows a great revival of interest in Grabiński. This article, whose first part was published a year ago (“Pokłosie Roku Stefana Grabińskiego”, Rocznik Przemyski 2012, vol. 47, issue 2 Language and Literature) is an attempt to discuss the most important of the mentioned events from March until the end of 2012.

The Ordinance “On the State Archaeology Museum” of 22 March 1928 issued by the President of the Polish Republic was a crowning act closing a five years’ process of formation of a central state museum of archaeology. Seventy five years after this important event it is worth examining the extent to which activities implemented at present by the Warsaw Museum are consistent in their spirit and letter with the legal act of 1928. The task contained in the Ordinance of studying the prehistory on the territory of the Polish State and of developing archaeology collections is being performed by the Museum through regular archaeological research, having the nature of science and investigation procedures, being the basic method of accumulating collections pursued by archaeology museums. Another important aspect of Museum activity is conservation of archaeological artefacts. The task of propagating the knowledge of the earliest history of Poland is being accomplished at present primarily through intensive research activity of the Museum staff. Another form of promoting awareness of archaeology among the general public is by organising exhibitions, museum classes for schoolchildren, etc. At present the Museum offers four permanent exhibitions next to about ten or so thematic exhibitions and temporary displays every year. In recent years the Museum was visited on the average by some 70 000––90 000 guests. It is apparent that the aims of the State Archaeology Museum, defined in its founding act of 1928, even after the passage of 75 years continue to be in force and are being performed successfully by the Museum.

This article deals with one of the most important persons in the Czechoslovak criminal jurisprudence of the 20th century, Prof. Vladimír Solnař. It was written as a result of the quadragennial anniversary of the moment when Czechoslovak criminal law lost its ‘father’, as Doc. František Vavera significantly named him.Using the available resources, this article depicts the path of his professional life from the schoolyard years to the last moments of his life. The main focus is on the posts he held, occupations he followed as well as his rich publication activities and impact he had on criminal jurisprudence overall. The article lists his most important works which can serve as very useful resources for any lawyer specializing in criminal law even today. Since Prof. Solnař served as a co-editor and active contributor and a long-time and vital member of the journal ‘Právník’, the article provides a list of his contributions to this journal. Finally, the article reveals his lifelong endeavour which unfortunately could not be fully completed by himself, thereby the academic community perceived the essential need for concluding his endeavour that has eventually been fulfilled.

The aim of the article is to analyze the state of research on the Commission of National Education in the context of its anniversaries, especially anniversary celebrations and scientific achievements in 1873, 1973, 2013 and 2023. The historical-comparative method was used, which is used in research on the course of phenomena and processes taking place in past and is based mainly on the analysis of historical sources. Ceremonies commemorating the founding of KEN provoke increased interest in its merits, because the achievements of this distinguished institution are still in the center of attention, not only of historians, education historians, educators, lawyers, but also of those who treat the Polish Enlightenment tradition as an inspiration for reforming the education system. And this is hardly surprising, because the National Education Commission inspired young people with the spirit of citizenship and patriotism, and thus contributed to the survival of Polish culture and language. Moreover, subsequent anniversary celebrations are also a great way to pay tribute to the members and people cooperating with KEN. Generally, these are activities that serve to consolidate historical memory, because good memory of the past is also a clear awareness of the connection with the present.

It is necessary to stress that for the Church, on the one hand understood as an institution and on the other hand as a human community, faith is a primary factor of its identity and its existence in history. It is faith that allows to see the theological dimension of ecclesial life, that indicates the Divine genesis of the Church and its redeeming mission. In a most general sense faith is perceived in this context as a response of a man and the whole community to God’s call, focused on the event of Jesus Christ. The revelation and salvation done in Him is for the Church the only credible criterion of the mission of evangelisation. Unfortunately, faith is a dynamic reality which can develop, yet it can also give in to degradation. The "Year of Faith" experienced in the Church in 1967 and 2013, analogically to Jubilee Years, was to dynamise the religious life of believers and answer the questions which trouble the membersof the Church. The solemn credo and the postulate of new evangelisation will remain the most important symbols of this time.

The paper presents the development of liturgical rites related to the Wedding Anniversary. It reveals the process of evolution of marriage rituals: from domestic rituals to wedding ceremonies celebrated in churches. Post-Tridentine Roman Ritual (1614) as well as its complements introduced at the beginning of the 20th century (1913 and 1925) did not include jubilee celebrations. Wedding anniversary celebrations were finally added to the Roman Ritual in 1952. Pius V’s Roman Missal did not include rites of anniversaries. Only the Missal of John XXIII on the occasion of the 25th and the 50th wedding anniversary indicated votive Mass formulas: De Sanctissima Trinitate, De Beata Maria Virgine including the additional oration from Pro gratiarum actione. The celebration was to be concluded with the prayer over the spouses, included in the Roman Ritual. The first edition of the post-conciliar Ordo celebrandi matrimonium (1969) did not contain any reference to the anniversary. Editio typica altera (1991) provided the appropriate formulas of the Mass and blessings based on De bendictionibus (1984). Polish editions of the Sacrament of Marriage rites preserve the traditions of the hymn Veni Creator and the binding of hands with the stole during the rite of marriage and – similarly – the rite of the anniversary. Further editions of the Missal of Paul VI provide forms of the Mass for the anniversary placing them among ritual masses (1970, 1975) or votive masses (2002). Liturgical books currently provide celebration patterns for the 25th, 50th and 60th wedding anniversary. They also encourage priests, deacons and lay persons to give blessings on other occasions. The renewal of wedding vows ceremony as an element of the mystagogy of the Sacrament of Marriage is widely practiced in Domestic Church oasis retreats of the Light-Life Movement.

Pope Francis’ visit to Sweden and his participation in the inauguration of the 500th anniversary of the Reformation triggered numerous reactions, both among German and Polish Catholics. The paper is an attempt to compare these reactions based on texts posted on selected Catholic websites: www.katholisch.de, www.domradio.de, www. kath.de, www.opoka.org.pl, www.deon.pl and www.fronda.pl. The analysis focuses on the following aspects: why the Pope went to Sweden; what and how he celebrated there. In general, German websites demonstrate largely similar stances and opinions formulated on the grounds of openness, kindness and mutual respect whereas opinions on Polish websites are clearly diverse: from liberal ones to the unambiguously conservative ones.
