The article presents the results of a study on the impact of a pilot programme of restorative justice centres. An initiative aiming to provide an institutional bridge between the judicial system, social organisations and local communities, the centres are an attempt to implement the idea of restorative justice. The project was initiated in response to the negative consequences of an excessive number of prison sentences and, in broader terms, the low efficiency of sentencing policy and the execution of penalties in Poland. The article offers a discussion of the impact of restorative justice centres in the context of broadly understood social policy. Preliminary results of the study indicate that the centres successfully imple­ment the idea of governance and make a contribution to increasing the consistency of social policy at the local level.

W artykule zaprezentowano wyniki badania nad oddziaływaniem pilotażowego programu centrów sprawiedliwości naprawczej. Z założenia stanowić one mają instytucjonalny pomost między wymiarem sprawiedliwości , organizacjami społecznymi a społecznością lokalną. Ich powstanie jest próbą wdrożenia idei sprawiedliwości naprawczej. Projekt powstał jako odpowiedź na negatywne skutki nadmiernej prizonizacji czy szerzej – niskoefektywnej polityki orzekania i wykonywania kar w Polsce. Głównym celem artykułu jest omówienie oddziaływania CSN-ów w zakresie szeroko rozumianej polityki społecznej. Jak wskazują pierwsze wyniki badań, CSN-y są instytucją realizującą ideę governance i przyczyniają się do zwiększenia spójności polityki społecznej na obszarze, na którym działają.
