The article describes the etymology of the words jałowiec/kadyk in the aspect of global etymology. The description supports the thesis of a West-Finnish transfer of the word kadyk to Baltic, Germanic and Slavic languages. The Author presents different sources of these words, taking into consideration Slavic, Ugro-Finnish, Turkish and Altay lexis. She quotes a series of lexicosemantic analogies in various related and unrelated languages and dialects. She expresses her belief in the necessity of further research in the field of Nostratics.

Artykuł opisuje pochodzenie słów jałowiec/kadyk w aspekcie etymologii globalnej. Jest potwierdzeniem tezy o zachodniofińskim transferze słowa kadyk do języków bałtyckich, germańskich i słowiańskich. Autorka prezentuje różne źródłosłowy tych nazw, uwzględniając leksykę słowiańską, ugrofińską, turkijską i ałtajską. Przytacza szereg analogii leksykalno-semantycznych w różnych językach, zarówno w genetycznie spokrewnionych, jak i niespokrewnionych. Wyraża przekonanie o celowości prowadzenia szerszych badań w ramach nostratyki.
