W artykule dokonano przeglądu wybranych czynników mających wpływ na efektywność pracy w zawodzie nauczyciela– w świetle teorii pedagogicznej i psychologicznej pozostające w ścisłej, wzajemnej relacji osobowość zawodowa, inteligencja emocjonalna i kompetencje społeczne należą do szerokiej grupy determinant sukcesu w tej profesji. Omówione konstrukty łączy ponadto przynależność do grupy czynników plastycznych, które poprzez zastosowanie właściwych metod mogą być rozwijane, podlegać zmianom.

The article reviews selected factors that affect the efficiency in the teaching profession– in the light of both pedagogical and psychological theories vocational personality, emotional intelligence and social competences, which remain in close and mutual relations, are among the broad determinants of success in this profession. Furthermore, the discussed constructs are linked by belonging to the group of plastic factors, which can be developed or changed through the use of appropriate methods.
