Psychology has been one of the most popular fields of study among high school graduates for several years. It is worth revising the most desirable competences of a modern psychologist in order to ensure high quality of education and, in the long run, to respond to the contemporary needs of clients in the very dynamically changing conditions of work. They are affected, among others, by the rapid development of new technologies, the coronavirus pandemic, and the war going on abroad. With such intensified socio-economic changes and the ever-increasing demand for psychological services, it is worth devoting time to discussing the most important competences of a modern psychologist. The aim of this study is both to attempt to determine the competences of a modern psychologist and to check whether – and if so, how – the mode of study (full-time and part-time) differentiates the self-assessment of these competences in the group of 239 psychology students surveyed. The data obtained as a result of the pilot study with the author’s questionnaire confirmed the existence of significant differences between the compared groups in the vast majority of the distinguished competences.

Psychologia niezmiennie od kilku lat pozostaje jednym z najczęściej wybieranych kierunków kształcenia wśród absolwentów szkół średnich. Warto zrewidować najbardziej pożądane kompetencje nowoczesnego psychologa, aby zapewnić wysoką jakość kształcenia, a w dalszej perspektywie odpowiedzieć na współczesne potrzeby klientów w bardzo dynamicznie zmieniających się warunkach wykonywanej pracy. Wpływa na nie m.in. szybki rozwój nowych technologii, pandemia koronawirusa oraz tocząca się za granicami kraju wojna. Przy tak nasilonych przemianach społeczno-ekonomicznych i wciąż rosnącym zapotrzebowaniu na usługi psychologiczne warto poświęcić czas na poruszenie tematu najistotniejszych kompetencji nowoczesnego psychologa. Celem niniejszego opracowania jest zarówno podjęcie próby określenia kompetencji nowoczesnego psychologa, jak i sprawdzenie, czy – a jeśli tak, to w jaki sposób – tryb nauki (stacjonarny i niestacjonarny) różnicuje samoocenę tych kompetencji w grupie 239 badanych studentów psychologii. Dane uzyskane w wyniku badania pilotażowego autorską ankietą potwierdziły występowanie istotnych różnic między porównywanymi grupami w zdecydowanej większości wyróżnionych kompetencji.
