Problem. The following study shows different dimensions of congress tourism. The authors present a case study of an international scientific conference with references to other conferences and the effort of showing some more general regularity, e.g. a ritual dimension. Methods. Empirical base is an experience of the first of authors in the field of active participation in 50 international scientific abroad conferences. In the logical order it is: Type of research – fieldwork; Type of a general method – case study; Type of data collecting – active participant observation, with references to other similar cases. In addition, a content analysis of the literature is used. The study was conducted from the perspective of anthropological-systemic theory of tourism, sociology of tourism and tourism concept of non-entertaining excursion. Results and conclusions. Scientific tourism is an interesting example of combining the features of several varieties of tourism. In addition to purely scientific purposes there are elements of congress tourism, transport, cultural, or religious. In the interpretation of this type of event tourism one must therefore take into account dimensions of self-realisation, dialogue-a cultural and religious one.

Problem. Jest to opracowanie ukazujące zróżnicowane wymiary turystyki kongresowej. Autorzy przedstawiają studium przypadku jednej z międzynarodowych konferencji naukowych, z odniesieniami do innych konferencji i staraniem o ukazanie pewnych, bardziej ogólnych prawidłowości. Metody. Bazą empiryczną jest doświadczenie pierwszego z autorów w zakresie czynnego uczestnictwa w 50 zagranicznych, międzynarodowych konferencjach naukowych. Czyli jest to swego rodzaju obserwacja uczestnicząca i „badania terenowe”. Zastosowano metodę studium przypadku, z odniesieniami do innych, podobnych przypadków. Ponadto uwzględniono analizę treści literatury przedmiotu. Badania przeprowadzono z perspektywy antropologiczno-systemowej teorii turystyki, socjologii turystyki i koncepcji turystyki nierozrywkowej. Wyniki i konkluzje. Turystyka naukowa jest interesującym przykładem łączenia cech kilku odmian turystyki. Obok celów stricte naukowych występują tu elementy typowe dla turystyki kongresowej, miejskiej, kulturowej, lub także religijnej. W interpretacji tego rodzaju zdarzeń turystycznych należy więc uwzględniać ich wymiary samorealizacyjne, dialogicznokulturowe i sakralne.

The article discusses the history of the methods used in planning and management in Plock`s industrial construction after the Second World War and during the time of the Third Polish Republic. During the 1990s, 1980s and 1990s Płock’s construction society, which was linked to NOT, PZITB and TNP, was prominent in researching and implementing modern methods of investment management. Great examples of such activities were the construction of Masovian Refinery and Petrochemical Plant, Harvesting Machinery factories, and other instances of local government construction in the city Płock and in Płock voivodeship. It all resulted in Płock becoming a place of frequent meetings of both Polish and foreign engineers during which new modern technologies and methods of planning and management in construction and investment were discussed.

Artykuł przedstawia rozwój metod planowania i zarządzania stosowanych w płockim budownictwie wielkoprzemysłowym po II wojnie światowej w czasach PRL i III RP. W latach 70., 80. i 90. XX w., płockie środowisko budowlane związane z NOT, PZITB i TNP, było wiodącym w kraju w dziedzinie opracowywania i wdrażania nowoczesnych metod zarządzania procesami inwestycyjnymi. W praktyce dotyczyło to głównie budowy Mazowieckich Zakładów Rafineryjnych i Petrochemicznych, Fabryki Maszyn Żniwnych oraz okresowo całości budownictwa samorządowego w Płocku i w województwie płockim. W wyniku tej aktywności Płock stał się miejscem częstych spotkań teoretyków i praktyków z kraju i zagranicy w obszarze nowoczesnych metod planowania i zarządzania w budownictwie i w procesie inwestycyjnym (zarządzania projektem).

Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie aktywności konferencyjnej Instytutu Historii Państwa i Prawa w latach 1969–2020. W opisywanym okresie możemy zauważyć trzy rodzaje konferencji organizowanych przez jednostkę. Pierwsze to cykliczne, instytutowe konferencje o charakterze ogólnopolskim, kolejne to ogólnopolskie zjazdy katedr historyczno-prawnych oraz konferencje organizowane przez sekcję historyczno-prawną Koła Naukowego Prawników przekształconą następnie w Studenckie Koło Naukowe Historyków Państwa i Prawa działające przy Instytucie.

The aim of the article is to present the academic conferences of the Institute of History of State and Law from 1969 to 2020. In the aforementioned period there are three types of conferences organised by the Institute. The first of these are cyclical conferences of a national character, the next are congresses of departments of legal history from universities across Poland, and the last are the conferences organised by students gathered firstly in the department of legal history in the Lawyer’s Student Research Group, which later transformed into the Student’s Legal History Research Group.
