Skłonność do oszczędzania gospodarstw domowych na tle zmian koniunktury konsumenckiej w Polsce

W artykule dokonano oceny zmian w czasie skłonności do oszczędzania gospodarstw domowych. Ponadto porównano kształtowanie się zamiarów oszczędzania gospodarstw oraz pozostałych podstawowych wskaźników koniunktury konsumenckiej. Analizy zostały przeprowadzone na podstawie danych miesięcznych pochodzących z badań realizowanych przez Główny Urząd Statystyczny oraz Narodowy Bank Polski. Zakres czasowy analiz obejmuje okres od stycznia 2004 r. do czerwca 2013 r. Otrzymane wyniki wskazują na silniejsze oddziaływanie sytuacji finansowej gospodarstwa niż sytuacji ekonomicznej kraju na kształtowanie się skłonności do oszczędzania.

In the article there was made an assessment of changes of households' propensity to save. Moreover a formation of households' intentions to save and the other main indicators of consumer tendency survey were compared. The analyses were conducted on the basis of monthly data which stem from surveys conducted by Central Statistical Office together with National Bank of Poland. The time horizon of the analyses covers the period from January 2004 to June 2013. The results obtained allow to make a statement that the financial situation of household has stronger impact on propensity to save than the economic situation of a country.

The paper analyzes changes in the level of uncertainty among households that can be observed in their assessments and forecasts of both their own fi nancial situation and the economic condition of the country. To achieve this aim, data from consumer confi dence surveys conducted during the years 1992-2013 was utilized. Over time, as respondents adapted to the new market conditions, they showed less and less uncertainty in both the diagnosis and prognosis of the economic situation in the country. The opposite trend was observed where diagnosing their own fi nancial situation was concerned, as well as in formulating forecasts of household finances.

Celem artykułu jest określenie czynników, które determinują zachowania konsumpcyjne gospodarstw domowych, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem tych o charakterze ekonomicznym. Biorąc pod uwagę specyfikę warunków, w jakich funkcjonują współczesne gospodarstwa domowe, w opracowaniu podjęto próbę określenia tego typu czynników działających nie tylko w skali mikro- czy makroekonomicznej, ale również w skali globalnej. W artykule przeprowadzono analizę determinant zachowań konsumpcyjnych polskich gospodarstw domowych od 2006 r., czyli w okresie, kiedy gospodarstwa te zaczęły stopniowo odczuwać skutki wstąpienia do Unii Europejskiej. Według wstępnych wyników badań na zmiany konsumpcji polskich gospodarstw domowych w badanym okresie wpływała nie tylko zmiana ich sytuacji materialnej w postaci wzrostu dochodów czy wartości posiadanych aktywów, ale także bieżąca i oczekiwana koniunktura gospodarcza w kraju i na świecie.

The objective of this study is to determine factors of consumer behaviour with a particular emphasis on economic ones. Taking into account the characteristic conditions in which modern households operate, an attempt is made to identify those factors that operate not only on micro and/or macroeconomic scales, but also on a global scale. The study analyses the determinants of consumer behaviour in Polish households from 2006 – at which point they began to gradually feel the effects of accession to the European Union. Preliminary results indicate that changes in consumption across Polish households were influenced not only by changes in those homes’ financial situation, in the form of increased income or asset value, but also in the current and expected economic situation in Poland as well as the rest of the world.
