Według Europejskiej Akademii Alergologii i Immunologii Klinicznej po 2025 r. ponad połowa Europejczyków będzie cierpiała wskutek co najmniej jednego rodzaju alergii. W Polsce z danych GUS na temat stanu zdrowia dzieci wynika, iż alergie i astma są na pierwszym miejscu wśród chorób przewlekłych. Choroby te dwa razy częściej dotykały młodzież zamieszkującą miasta niż tereny wiejskie. Choroby alergiczne znacznie obniżają jakość życia alergika i jego najbliższego otoczenia. Wpływają na rozwój osobowy, życie zawodowe czy sposób spędzania czasu wolnego. Celem artykułu było przybliżenie problemu kosztów generowanych przez choroby alergiczne w odniesieniu do gospodarstw domowych i budżetu państwa w świetle nielicznych artykułów podejmujących tę tematykę. Omówiono podział kosztów alergii na bezpośrednie, pośrednie i niematerialne. Wskazano implikacje dla sektora finansów publicznych. Konieczność identyfikacji i oszacowania kosztów alergii została wskazana w celu racjonalnego zarządzania przez systemy opieki zdrowotnej i sektor finansów publicznych.

According to the European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology, after 2025, more than half of Europeans will suffer from at least one type of allergy. In Poland, CIS analyzes on the state of health of children show that allergies and asthma are in the first place of chronic diseases. These diseases were twice as likely to affect young people living in cities than rural areas. Allergic diseases significantly reduce the quality of life of the allergic patient and its family. They affect personal development, professional life or the way of spending free time. The aim of the article was to approximate the problem of costs generated by allergic diseases in relation to households and the state budget in the light of few articles dealing with this subject. The division of allergy costs into direct, indirect and intangible ones was discussed. The implications for the public finance sector were indicated. The necessity to identify and measure the costs of allergy was pointed out for the purpose of rational management by the social welfare systems and the public finance sector.
