Celem artykułu jest wskazanie, jak ważną rolę w praktycznym i pełnym poznaniu najpoważniejszych schorzeń, z którymi spotkają się przyszli logopedzi – zespołu Downa, autyzmu i afazji, pełni pisarstwo autobiograficzne. Wykorzystując swoje immanentne cechy, autentyczność i wiarygodność przekazu, będzie w naturalny sposób wprowadzało w trudne problemy psychiczne, psychologiczne, a nawet medyczne. Dlatego też w kształceniu logopedycznym pisarstwo autobiograficzne dotyczące wymienionych chorób powinno być lekturą obowiązkową.

The article focuses on the issue of autobiographical writing and the role it plays in the practical and full understanding of the most serious diseases that future speech therapists will encounter – Down syndrome, autism and aphasia. Using its immanent features, authenticity and credibility of the message, it will naturally introduce into difficult mental, psychological, and even medical problems. Therefore, in the speech therapy training, autobiographical writing concerning these diseases should be obligatory reading.

Autorka przedstawia motywacje, które skłoniły ją do zaproponowania nazwy – „orofacjologopedia” – dla pewnej grupy zaburzeń mowy związanych z wadliwą budową i/lub funkcją obwodowych narządów mowy. Opisuje przedmiot orofacjologopedii, a również wskazuje na najważniejsze problemy związane z badaniami tego wycinka logopedii. Przypomina także różne kryteria wyodrębnienia innych specjalności logopedycznych, co staje się tłem dla podejmowanych rozważań. Wskazuje na korzyści płynące z nazwania charakterystycznych objawów i przyczyn zaburzeń związanych z anomaliami anatomicznymi i dysfunkcjami czynności prymarnych, a także parafunkcjami związanymi z przestrzenią orofacjalną. Odnosi się też do niewystarczającego kształcenia logopedycznego w zakresie dyslalii, jakie jest obecne w niektórych uczelniach wyższych w Polsce.

The author presents the motivation that prompted her to propose the name – orofacial speech therapy – for a certain group of speech defects connected with imperfect structure and/or function of the peripheral speech organs. In the following article the subject of orofacial speech therapy is described and the most relevant problems connected with the research in this segment of speech therapy are indicated. One also reminds of various criteria of distinguishing other segments related to speech therapy, which becomes the background for the undertaken issues. She also points to the advantages coming from the fact that we give names to the characteristic symptoms and causes of defects within anatomical anomalies and disfunctions of the primary activities as well as parafunctions within orofacial space. This aspect refers to insufficient education for speech therapists within dislalia – which can be observed at some universities in Poland.
