Architektura i krajobraz to przestrzeń egzystencjalna – angażująca wszystkie zmysły, którą odczuwa się mimo woli dzięki światłu. Aby zrozumieć miejsce sacrum, nie wystarczy je zobaczyć, trzeba je doświadczyć. Poddane analizie sakralnej architektury w krajobrazie, autorstwa Tadao Ando, Petera Zumthora i Mario Botty, czerpią inspiracje z dorobku Le Corbusiera i jego odwagi formalnej kaplicy w Ronchamp. Każdy z przywołanych twórców w niepowtarzalny sposób uwidacznia kunszt artystyczny, wyczucie form, relacje skali w kreowaniu miejsca sacrum oraz po mistrzowsku operuje światłem jako medium ujawniającym sakralne wartości i genius loci. Architektura sacrum czerpie z miejsca i otaczającego krajobrazu, a miejsce czerpie z architektury wzmacniającej jego ducha na miarę swojego czasu. Genius saeculi objawia się oszczędną i symboliczną formą w kontekście otwartego krajobrazu, kreując azyl sacrum „malowanego” światłem.

Architecture and landscape is an existential space – engaging all the senses, which is felt in spite of will thanks to light. To understand the sacred place, it is not enough to see them, we have to experience them. The analysis of the sacred architecture in the landscape by Tadao Ando, Peter Zumthor and Mario Botta, draw on the work of Le Corbusier and his courage in the Ronchamp chapel form. Each of the presented artists mentioned in a unique way, sense of form, scale relations in creating the sacred place and masterly uses light as a medium revealing sacral values and genius loci. The sacred architecture comes from the place and the surrounding landscape, and the place draws from architecture that strengthens its spirit to the measure of its time. Genius saeculi is manifested in an symbolic form in the context of an open landscape, creating asylum for sacrum “painted” with light.
