The article deals with codifying the existing efforts in the field of landscape planning and contributing to the spatial planning system optimization. The summarizing of the state of the landscape planning is presented with special accent to the experience the German and British experience as potentially most perspective for Lithuania. Solutions of Lithuanian national landscape management plan on the determination the landscape management zones and regulatory policies with cartographic localization are delivered, as well as proposals on opportunities for landscape protection development. Special attention is paid for territorial differentiation of the landscape management strategies, strengthening Lithuanian nature frame, developing the networks of regional historic and recreational parks and determination the territorial priorities on culture heritage protection.
