This article attempts to identify the key characteristics of the leisure and celebrity gossip magazines. Using a broad range of qualitative and quantitative methods of analysis, the author tries to answer the following questions: What media groups were most active in that market segment? Who are the target readers of the leisure and gossip press? What are the future prospects of that press segment in a rapidly changing media landscape?

Artykuł stanowi próbę charakterystyki magazynów rozrywkowo-plotkarskich. Bazuje na metodzie analizy zarówno jakościowej, jak i ilościowej przeprowadzonej w badanej grupie typologicznej. Autorka starała się odpowiedzieć na pytania: jakie grupy medialne inwestowały w ten segment prasowy, które magazyny były najistotniejsze, do kogo adresowano magazyny rozrywkowo-plotkarskie oraz jaka jest przyszłość tego segmentu prasowego na dynamicznie zmieniającym się rynku mediów.
