Artykuł prezentuje wybrane koncepcje ponowoczesności, których autorzy twierdzą, że kryzys jest immanentną cechą współczesnych czasów, co stawia przed sektorem publicznym nowe zadania. Następnie przedstawia elementy weberowskiej i neo-weberowskich koncepcji lidera charyzmatycznego. W ostatniej części pokazuje przydatność teorii lidera charyzmatycznego w uję-ciu Webera do badań nad sektorem publicznym.

The purpose of this article is to review chosen concepts of postmodernity, al-leging that crisis is an immanent feature of present times and the public sector is facing a new dimension of challenges. Further, it presents elements of we-berian and neo-weberian theories of charismatic leader and asserts that weberian perspective of charismatic leader can be valid in public sector research.
