This article tries to give us a piece of further explanation why some borrowings, which have long been considered in the Polish language for Russianisms are actually Orientalisms. These borrowingsare deeply set in the culture of Orient and still sound exotic in Polish.

W tym artykule podjęto próbę wyjaśnienia, dlaczego niektóre zapożyczenia od dawna uważane w polszczyźnie za rusycyzmy tak naprawdę są genetycznymi orientalizmami. Orientalizmyte dostały się do języka polskiego drogą złożoną, zmieniając się nieco w wyniku kilku adaptacji słowiańskich. Mimo to wciąż brzmią obco, egzotycznie, tym samym dodatkowo zdradzając swojeniesłowiańskie pochodzenie. Cechuje je mocne osadzenie w realiach kulturowych.
