The author analysed the problem of the homophobia with the linguistic prospect and he presented it in categories of the linguistic image of world. He discussed the social phenomena, analysing the vocabulary connected with naming persons with homosexual tendencies, and also accompanying talking about the homosexuality in general. He brought up issues of the linguistic taboo, judging reality and linguistic stereotype; he also emphasized the features of the so-called hate speech. The author, basing his statements on observation of linguistic phenomena, reached a conclusion, that in the scope of the sexuality loosening the taboo followed, so it is necessary to talk about dysphemisms and detaboos in the case of this sphere of live.
