Sto let zemědělství v České republice

100%
EN
The paper is about history of agricultural production in the territory of the Czech Republic. It is complementary to series of papers which are concentrated on the history of the Czech Republic, especially on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of its foundation. The aim of the paper is to give an evidence of development and describe the main changes that Czech agriculture has undergone. The paper was written chronologically from the beginning of agriculture in the Czechoslovak republic to today‘s modern form. In more detail, it focuses on key changes in society that have had a significant impact on agriculture. These changes include the rise of socialism and the transition to a market economy in the 1990‘s. The paper is important for understanding the position of today‘s agriculture in the economy overall. The main sources that were used are historical literature and data provided by the Czech Statistical Office. This data in the form of graphs complements the text. On the example of specific crops, it illustrates their sowing area or number of pieces in the case of livestock production. The paper shows an increase in corn and rape production, or a decrease in forage crops or potatoes, and explains the reasons for these changes. The main benefit of the paper is its complexity and comprehensive focus, but it does not show details due to the limited space.
