The tendencies of development of modern logic are considered by examining the problems of definition of the philosophy of logic, philosophical logic, and the relationship of logic, argumentation theory and legal argumentation. The last one is regarded as an example of the scope of possible research areas of domestic logicians that focused on practical aspects of logic.

Питання про долю логіки у ХХІ сторіччі трансформувалося у цілу низку питань, відповідь на які намагаються дати як логіки-філософи, так і логіки-математики. Серед розглядуваних у цьому контексті проблем однією із головних (якщо не найголовнішою) є проблема взаємозв’язку філософії та логіки. Питання, що їх порушують у контексті дослідження зазначеної проблеми, дають змогу говорити про тенденції розвитку логіки як наукової дисципліни, а отже про зосередження уваги на пріоритетних темах під час її викладання у вищих навчальних закладах.
