The study is a slightly modified version of the book published in English in 2017 (Rafał Lemkin (1900-1959) co-creator of international criminal law. Short biography, Warsaw 2017) [Raphael Lemkin (1900-1959), co-creator of international criminal law. Short biography]. Owing to the circumstances, including the constantly uncovered crimes committed by the Russian army against the Ukrainian population, we decided to publish an article devoted to Rafał Lemkin in Ukrainian, also because Lemkin himself noticed the tragedy of Ukraine already in the mid-XX century, when he labelled the Holodomor and the policy of Ukraine’s denationalization by Russians, and subsequently by the Soviet Russians, a genocide (see the Polish version of Lemkin’s 1953 - p. 141-148). This article is published in Ukrainian. For help in the paper’s translation and the preparation for publication, the author thanks Dr Ihor Zeman and Ms. Krystyna Potapenko.

Opracowanie jest nieco zmienioną wersją książeczki, która ukazała się w 2017 r. w języku angielskim (Rafał Lemkin (1900-1959) co-creator of international criminal law. Short biography, Warsaw 2017). Z uwagi na okoliczności, w tym ujawniane stale zbrodnie dokonywane przez rosyjskie wojsko na ludności ukraińskiej, postanowiliśmy opublikować artykuł poświęcony Rafałowi Lemkinowi w języku ukraińskim, także dlatego, że Lemkin dostrzegał tragizm Ukrainy już w połowie XX w., gdy Hołodomor i politykę wynaradawiania Ukrainy przez Rosjan, a następnie Sowieckich Rosjan, nazwał ludobójstwem (zob. polską wersję referatu Lemkina z 1953 r. – niżej s. 141–148 ). Za pomoc w tłumaczeniu i przygotowaniu do druku opracowania dziękuję serdecznie Panu docentowi dr. Ihorowi Zemanowi oraz Pani Krystynie Potapenko.
