Teodor Parnicki’s laconic diaries from the 1980s are filled with notes about the progress of his writing and disease, yet conceal much more than would be immediately evident. By considering what the author did not write, a very interesting picture of the final decade of communist Poland emerges. Reflection on the text, its rhythm and the construction of notes, reveals a narrative shaped by malady and senility. With the author’s decline during his final years, the schema of notes and their subject become characterized by a certain arrhythmia. These are the symptoms of the disintegrating narrative of the dying text/body.

Lakoniczne Dzienniki z lat osiemdziesiątych Teodora Parnickiego, wypełnione buchalteryjnymi notkami o postępach pisarskich i chorobach, kryją w sobie znacznie więcej, niż się na pozór wydaje. Jeśli zwrócimy uwagę na to, co przemilcza ich autor, ukaże nam się bardzo ciekawy obraz ostatniej dekady PRL. Z kolei namysł nad tekstem, jego rytmem i budową zapisków odsłoni przed nami narrację maladyczną i senilną. Ostatnie roczniki, w których rozpada się schemat notek, ich tematyka, i pojawia się specyficzna arytmia, to właśnie symptomy rozpadającej się narracji zamierającego podmiotu.

This article is an analysis of the song “Women on Waves” by the band Gang Śródmieście. The artists touch upon the issue of abortion and build the whole narrative around it. However, it is not just an expression of their opinion on the subject, as the authors refer to several themes in the text. Namely, they refer to legislation, cultural situation, recall facts from public life and describe their abortion journey. The work presents the figure of a woman with an unwanted pregnancy, who has become a sick person due to her physiological condition. The search for an appropriate methodology, research tools and the possibility of presenting a holistic perspective, therefore, leads to maladic discourses, and they are one of the optics I use. The other is feminist criticism, the authors refer to its values and ideas, as I will prove in the article.

Niniejszy artykuł stanowi analizę utworu Kobiety na Falach autorstwa zespołu Gang Śródmieście. Artystki poruszają w nim kwestię aborcji i to wokół niej budują całą narrację piosenki. Nie jest ona jednak tylko wypowiedzeniem ich opinii na ten temat, autorki bowiem odnoszą się w tekście do kilku wątków. Mianowicie odwołują się do ustawodawstwa, sytuacji kulturowej, przywołują fakty z życia publicznego oraz opisują swoją aborcyjną podróż. W utworze zaprezentowano figurę kobiety w niechcianej ciąży, która w związku ze swoim stanem fizjologicznym stała się osobą chorą. Poszukiwania odpowiedniej metodologii, narzędzi badawczych i możliwości holistycznego przedstawienia perspektywy kierują więc do dyskursów maladycznych, którymi operuję. Drugim wątkiem jest krytyka feministyczna – autorki odwołują się do jej wartości i idei, co udowodnię w artykule.
