The article presents the results of the use of exact percentiles methods for estimating median. For a sample with an odd number of observations used estimator in the form of the sample median (standard estimator), and for a sample with an even number of observations, used estimator in the form of the sample median and standard estimator. It presents a formula defining the distribution of standard estimator and describes how you can determine the distribution of the estimator in the form of the sample median for sample with an even number of observations. The study was conducted for the selected distributions and selected sample size. It was estimated standard deviation and confidence intervals for selected estimators. The study shows, that the use of exact percentiles method for standard estimators is much simpler than using the classical method with the resampling.

W artykule przedstawiono wyniki zastosowania dokładnej metody percentyli do szacowania mediany. Dla próby o nieparzystej liczbie obserwacji zastosowano estymator w postaci mediany z próby (estymator standardowy), zaś dla próby o parzystej liczbie obserwacji estymator w postaci mediany z próby oraz estymator standardowy. Przedstawiono formuły określające rozkład estymatorów standardowych oraz opisano w jaki sposób można wyznaczyć rozkład estymatora w postaci mediany z próby o parzystej liczbie obserwacji. Badania przeprowadzono dla wybranych rozkładów i wybranych liczebności próby. Oszacowano odchylenia standardowe wziętych pod uwagę estymatorów oraz przedziały ufności wyznaczone przy ich pomocy. W pracy pokazano, że użycie dokładnej metody percentyli dla estymatorów standardowych jest znacznie prostsze niż stosowanie metody klasycznej z losowaniem prób wtórnych.

W artykule przedstawiono dokładną metodą bootstrapową, którą wykorzy-stano do szacowania mediany. Obliczenia potwierdziły jej skuteczność, po-nieważ dla próby o nieparzystej liczbie elementów, oszacowany rozkład standardowego estymatora mediany dokładnie pokrywał się z rozkładem teo-retycznym. Dla próby o parzystej liczbie elementów pokazano, że standar-dowy estymator mediany może być obciążony, co wskazuje na konieczność poszukiwania innej jego postaci.

The article presents the exact bootstrap method, which was used to estimate the median. Calculations have confirmed its effectiveness, because attempts with an odd number of elements, the estimated distribution of the standard median estimator exactly coincide with the theoretical distribution. For the sample with an even number of items showing that the standard estimator of the median may be biased, which indicates the need to seek its other form.
