Este artículo es una propuesta de mejoramiento ambiental, partiendo desde la recupe-ración del espacio habitado y reapropiación del potencial productivo, orientándolo a una mejor calidad de vida y condiciones de existencia, implementándose metodologías de observación y experimentación, técnicas cuantitativa y cualitativas y talleres educa-tivos. En consecuencia se presenta la producción de sistemas de energía renovable y fitocorrección con plantas autóctonas. Estas actividades fueron asesoradas por dife-rentes instituciones locales, nacionales e internacionales, como Fundación UOCRA y CIFA. La propuesta del presente análisis es el aumento de espacios verdes, recupera-ción de flora nativa, remediación de suelos contaminados, mejoramiento de la calidad del aire y agua, concientización ambiental.

This article is a proposal for environmental improvement, starting with the recovery of inhabited space and re-appropriation of productive potential with the aim to improve the quality of life and living conditions, while implementing the methodology of observation and experiments, quantitative and qualitative techniques and educational workshops. Therefore, the production of renewable energy systems and phytoremediation with native plants – activities assessed by various local, national and international institutions, such as UOCRA and CIFA Foundation, are discussed. The proposal of this analysis is an increase in green spaces, the native flora recovery, remediation of contaminated soil, improvement of air and water quality, and the growth of environmental awareness

The Furs of Valencia, i.e. the legal text granted by Jaume I after the conquest of the Kingdom of Valencia in 1238 are the paradigma of the Reception of Roman Law in Europe. The Furs regulate the sewage of this newly conquested Kingdom following the model established in D.43,23,1. The Laws and Privileges granted by Jaume I are the legal response to the needs of reorganization of the urban space of the city of Valencia, in which a new Christian population is to be settled. Los Fueros de Valencia, texto legal que el Rey Jaime I da al Reino de Valencia tras su Reconquista cristiana en 1238 son un paradigma del fenómeno de Recepción del Derecho Romano en Europa. Encontramos en los Fueros la regulación sobre cloacas propuesta por el Monarca para el Reino recién conquistado a imagen de D.43,23,1. Fueros y Privilegios otorgados por Jaime I responden a las primeras necesidades de reorganización del espacio urbano de una ciudad recién conquistada que es necesario ocupar y colonizar por la población cristiana llegada de otros lugares que reemplace a los musulmanes.

El artículo desarrolla algunas reflexiones sobre las relaciones que unen la ciudad (las ciudades) con el medio ambiente en sus alrededores. Los autores, basándose en la literatura y, también, en las investigaciones de campo realizadas en Ecuador y en España, emprendieron la tarea de clasificar dichas relaciones, indicando tres tipos de las mismas. El primero consiste en una constante expansión de la ciudad, unida a la apropiación y privatización del espacio público que pueden ser asociadas con la actuación depredadora y parasitaria en relación con el medio ambiente. El segundo tipo de relaciones entre la ciudad y su entorno natural es una especie de coexistencia que podemos asociar con la simbiosis. El tercero, es el más armonioso, equilibrado y que preserva para las generacion es futuras no solo el medio ambiente, sino también el patrimonio cultural.

This article is an attempt to reflect on the relationships linking city (cities) with the surrounding natural environment. Based on literature review and field research in Ecuador and Spain, the authors have attempted to classify those relationships. Three types of those can be distinguished. The first is the constant expansion of the city, appropriation and privatization of the public space, associated with environmentally harmful parasitism and predation. The second type of relationship between city and its surroundings is a kind of coexistence similar symbiosis. The third type of relationship is the most harmonious and balanced, preserving for future generations, not only the environment, but also the cultural heritage.
