W artykule zwrócono uwagę na zjawisko ekshibicjonizmu śmierci (tanatoekshibicjonizmu) jako zagadnienie metal music studies. Dzisiejsze narracje medialne dotyczące śmierci w różnych wymiarach i wariantach, niezliczone ilości informacji i komentarzy w mediach społecznościowych wpływają na rozmiar skali medialnego tanatoekshibicjonizmu. Wskazane zostały główne obszary korelacji tanatologii z kulturą metalową. W oparciu o wybrane ujęcia i zagadnienia teoretyczne (Thomas, Morin, Pomian, Burszta i in.) omówiono m.in. transmitowany w serwisie YouTube pogrzeb jednego z prekursorów heavy metalu Iana Lemmy’ego Kilmistera, zorganizowany na cmentarzu Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery w Los Angeles 9 stycznia 2016 roku.

This article focuses on the exhibitionism of death (tanatoexhibitionism) as an issue of metal music studies. Today’s media narratives about death in various dimensions and variants, innumerable information and comments in social media influence the scale of tanatoexhibitionism. The main areas of correlation between tanatology and metal culture have been indicated. Based on selected approaches and theoretical issues (Thomas, Morin, Pomian, Burszta et al.), the funeral of one of the precursors of heavy metal music, Ian Lemmy Kilmister, which took place at the Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery in Los Angeles on January 9, 2016 and was broadcast on YouTube, has been discussed.

Moja podróż przez niebo i piekło z Black Sabbath rozpatrzony został w kontekście m.in. kategorii pamięci autobiograficznej. Szczególną uwagę zwrócono na bohaterów narracji oraz wydarzenia specyficzne i przełomowe w życiu artysty.

This article focuses on the some aspects of the autobiography of heavy metal music precursor Tony Iommi. Text Iron man. My journey through the sky and hell with Black Sabbath was considered in the context of category of autobiographical memory. Special attention was paid to the main characters of narrative and to the specific and crucial events of the artist’s life.
