W artykule na bazie dokonanego przeglądu literatury przedstawiono rozwój zarządzania projektami, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem zmian zachodzących na przełomie XX i XXI w. Omówiono też trzy dotychczasowe rewolucje przemysłowe wraz z hipotezą czwartej rewolucji oraz związaną z nią koncepcją przemysłu 4.0. Przedstawiono perspektywę rozwoju zarządzania projektami w przedsiębiorstwach będącą odpowiedzią na rozprzestrzeniającą się cyfryzację, która w znaczącym stopniu przyczyni się do zaistnienia czwartej rewolucji przemysłowej

Based on the literature review, the article presents the development history of Project Management, with a special focus on the changes that took place during the transition between the XX and XXI centuries. The three previous industrial revolutions are discussed with an outlined hypothesis on the upcoming fourth one, including the idea of industry 4.0. The perspective of the further development of Project Management is outlined in conjunction with broadly spreading digitalization, which is the main source of the fourth industrial revolution.
