The paper analyzes the system of social market economy in Poland. It shows some discrepancies between the assumed principles of the system and the reality. Some theories of system analyses are presented here, in particular the conception of M. Weber and W. Eucken. The paper depicts a model of social market economy in its theoretical aspect and how it functions in practice. It shows also its relations to the principles of Catholic social doctrine. Here the role of ordoliberalism is discussed in creating the system of social market economy.
