The aim of the present article is to analyze two short stories by Evdokia Nagrodskaya (1866–1930), one of the most famous Russian women writers in the early 20th century. The main characters of both stories overstep the boundary between real and oneiric world easily. Dream and reality coexist in their lives. Nagrodskaya who creates their ventures expresses amodernist view of inscrutable nature of the world.
