Autor artykułu dowodzi, że współcześnie modernizacja gospodarki znajduje się pod rosnącą presją procesów zachodzących w gospodarce globalnej. Opisując te procesy wskazuje na ich zna-czenie w ewolucji modelu modernizacji UE i sprzężenia z wewnętrznymi uwarunkowaniami rozwoju społeczno-ekonomicznego Polski. Wskazuje na negatywne konsekwencje imitacyjnego charakteru mo-dernizacji dla spójności społecznej. W artykule przedstawione są również krótko i długookresowe zale-cenia konieczne dla zorientowania modernizacji na spójność społeczno-ekonomiczną.

Author provides evidence that current modernization of an economy is under growing pres-sure of on-going processes in the global economy. Having described these processes, he empha-sizes their meaning for evolution of model of modernization of the EU and their interdependences with internal conditions of socio-economic development of Poland. He stresses the negative outcomes of imitative character of modernization for socio-economic cohesion. The article consists of short-term and long-term recommendations, necessary to socio-economic cohesion oriented modernization.
