The publication is dedicated to analysis of theoretical innovations introduced by Servais Theodor Pinckaers. The authors assert that S. Pinkaers’ argumentation has a lot of aspects. Thus we can speak about complex character of the mentioned renovation. In view of the aspect of connection of the moral theology with demands and requirements of the contemporary man the Thomistic doctrine of God, as the finite reason and the highest blessing of a man, arises as the theoretical principle which substantiates a necessity of renovation. The urgent problem of the contemporary human existence which predetermines the return to this doctrine is the lack of life meaning and impossibility to formulate the adopted conception of the meaning of life, not going into problems of purpose causality rejected by the modern thought. The work is also dedicated to analysis of terminological conception of the first Ukrainian translation of the work by S. Pinkaers “Sources of Chris tian Ethics”.
