This paper presents the multi-pillar conceptual framework of pension systems in the member states of the European Union, and specifically Poland. The current old-age pension system legal regulations have been analysed. The paper also covers recent reforms introduced to the old-age pension system with particular attention to the changes of pensionable age.

W artykule przedstawiono koncepcję filarowości systemów emerytalnych w państwach UE oraz w Polsce. Przeanalizowano obowiązujące regulacje prawne w polskim systemie emerytalnym. Opisano także zmiany wprowadzane w ostatnich latach w systemie emerytalnym, zwłaszcza te dotyczące wieku emerytalnego.
