W niniejszym artykule podjęto się próby identyfikacji i oceny szans zawodowych kobiet, implikowanych rozwojem turystyki dziedzictwa kulturowego na obszarach wiejskich. Analizę oparto o studia literaturowe oraz wyniki badań empirycznych prowadzonych w ramach projektów międzynarodowych, krajowych i regionalnych. W artykule scharakteryzowano sytuację społeczno-ekonomiczną kobiet wiejskich w Polsce oraz czynniki determinujące rozwój wielofunkcyjności rolnictwa i turystyki dziedzictwa kulturowego. Analizie zostały poddane możliwości zatrudnienia, samozatrudnienia lub uzyskiwania dodatkowego dochodu kobiet w oparciu o usługi turystyczne związane z dziedzictwem kulturowym. Szczególny nacisk położono na endogeniczny potencjał gospodarstwa rolnego w zakresie wspierania agroturystyki i turystyki dziedzictwa kulturowego, stanowiących wybrane kierunki wielofunkcyjnego rolnictwa.

The article deals with the identification and assessment of women’s professional opportunities implied by the development of heritage tourism in rural areas. The analysis was based on literature studies and the results of empirical research conducted as part of international, national and regional projects. The article characterizes the socio-economic situation of rural women in Poland and factors determining the development of multifunctionality of agriculture and heritage tourism. The possibilities of employment, self-employment or obtaining additional income for women based on heritage-related tourist services were analyzed. Particular emphasis was placed on the endogenous potential of the farm in maintaining and passing on traditions and culture related to farming, animal husbandry, local processing, running a rural household, as well as local identity shaped by the broadly understood rural economy.
